ZAIN RASHID: A Journey To Fame
Far
From leading glamorous lives, most chef work long, hard hours but have a love
and passion for what they do. Today, I would be writing about ZAIN RASHID one
of the best culinary specialist/chef of Pakistan. Let's just explore his routine,
struggle, efforts and secret story towards success.
1. A
little introduction of yourself and what you do?
My
name is Zain Rashid and I have done my MBA from Imsciences Peshawar. I was
always interested in creative arts so I started doing fashion designing on my
own during my studies. Be that as it may, cooking was my passion. I used to
bake/cook things for my family since I was young, as it was my hobby. Later,
one day I got a chance and I partook in MasterChef Pakistan. From that very day
my fate got changed. I was able to demonstrate my abilities/skills to the
world. I simply adore cooking/baking. As of now I am working at Shelton Rezidor as a Pastry Head and a Production Manager.
2. How
did you get in to cooking/baking?
Well, I never had a good bakery close to my house. My sister used to bake at home. I
started observing every step she used to do and later discovered baking quite
interesting and technically very amazing. In the wake of watching what my
sister used to do I used to explore it in different ways. While being in master chef
there were such a significant number of drills and training's from which I got
the chance to learn a lot. I additionally took couple of professional training
in pastry art and baking.
3. As a
chef, what is your specialty?
As a
chef my specialty or my claim to fame is making lovely cakes. I feel like there
are a lot of creative/imaginative options in making cakes. Along these lines, I
generally adore making cakes and desserts.
4. In
your opinion what is the hardest thing being a chef?
Taking
a day off is the hardest thing as a chef (LOL) else I adore my work and love playing
with ingredients in my kitchen.
5. How you manage work pressure?
Work
pressure is very testing yet we deal with it and manage it quite well. Being a
pastry chef our work is a greater amount of innovative things not just simply
tossing food in pan and then putting them on plate. Bakery chefs are considered
to be the artists of food so we require space, time and genuine feelings of
serenity at work.
6. What motivates you to do your best on the job?
The
main thing which motivates is the challenges and clients expectations. Whenever
they bring some difficult designs of cake and say “ZAIN WE KNOW YOU CAN DO
THIS, WE CAN’T TRUST ANYONE ELSE” is the time when I feel honored. I simply
cherish getting sweet compliments since that is all you get as a reward of your
diligent work.
7. Where do you see yourself in five years time?
One
of the top pastry chef in the world Inshallah
8. Any advice for upcoming chefs?
All I
would say is love your work. Work hard with passion and all your effort.
Through this you can achieve anything no matter how big your dream is. You will ace it INSHALLAH.
Cooking
is about diving into the culinary world and working every day not just to learn
from it, but also influencing it. Like they say, being in the food industry is
not just about discovering new cuisines and ingredients but is also about
discovering yourself.
